Welcome to The Mayor of London’s Christmas Card Competition for 2023! This year, The Mayor of London is extending an invitation to all pupils to participate in a creative celebration of the theme, ‘Together at Christmas.’ The Mayor is seeking the artistic talents of pupils to craft a card that beautifully encapsulates the spirit of togetherness, emphasizing the feelings of belonging, support, and shared joy that make a community feel like home. The stakes are high, as the winning entry will grace The Mayor’s official 2023 Christmas card, a gesture of warmth and unity that will be shared with dignitaries from across the globe, including the esteemed sovereign, His Majesty King Charles III. So, let the creativity flow, and let’s come together to make this festive season truly memorable!
Prize details
The winning design is going to be on the Mayor’s official 2023 Christmas card. And here’s the cool part: the winner’s first name, age, and school will be on the back of the card, so everyone will know who made it!
But that’s not all – this competition has some awesome support from Cass Art, which is the top art supplies store in the UK. The winner is in for a treat. They’ll be invited to the Mayor’s Christmas carol service event, and they’ll get a certificate to show off. Plus, they’ll receive some copies of the card to send to their friends and family, and the Mayor will personally sign their Christmas card. To make it even better, they’ll also get a £100 gift voucher to shop for art supplies at Cass Art.
And guess what? The two entries that get the most praise, besides the winner, won’t go empty-handed. They’ll each get a certificate and a £30 gift voucher to shop at Cass Art. It’s a win-win for art lovers!

Pupils should not attach additional materials like tinsel, glitter, or sequins to their entries. The design should be an image only, with no text. Entries must be uploaded as a JPEG or PNG, and the file size should not exceed 20MB. You can scan or take a clear photo of the design.
- Theme: The theme for this year is ‘Together at Christmas.’ Pupils should create artwork that reflects the sense of belonging, support, and shared joy in a welcoming community.
